The Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA) announced the winners of the CEDEC2025 (Computer Entertainment Developers Conference 2025) awards on Wednesday. The winners of the Grand Prize are as follows:

  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Nintendo) won the Engineering Division.
  • Astro Bot (Team ASOBI) won the Game Design Division.
  • Silent Hill 2 (Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. Bloober Team S.A.) won the Sound Division.
  • 3D人-3dnchu (Yamato3D) won the Visual Arts Division.

Nobuo Uematsu won the special prize for his composition in various franchises such as Final Fantasy. CESA made a statement in regards to presentation of the award:

Game music, which has existed since the early days of computer games, is now a major part of entertainment and a highly regarded art form. One of the great contributors to laying this foundation is Nobuo Uematsu. In particular, the theme songs of the “[FINAL FANTASY]” series are familiar to many fans as a symbol of the series, and whether they are new or remakes, their melodies are so deeply rooted that they instantly remind you of the game. Uematsu’s original composition skills and ability to convey emotions to players through music have been the driving force behind the global recognition of game music. In recognition of their great achievements, we present the CEDEC AWARDS Special Award.

CEDEC2025 took place from July 22 through July 24 at Pacifico Yokohama North. The awards seek to recognize outstanding contributions to the advancement of computer entertainment development.
