Webtoon The Hooligans by acclaimed artist Tae-ho Yoon is experiencing a surge in popularity, riding the momentum of its live-action adaptation Low Life.
According to Kakao Entertainment on July 22, the webtoon’s weekly view count on kakao Webtoon increased approximately 58 times between the third week of June (June 16-22) and the third week of July (July 14-20). Sales also jumped 26 times over the same period, reflecting renewed interest in the title.
Set in a coastal village near Sinan, Low Life follows a group of greedy yet earnest locals who stumble upon a rumor about a sunken treasure ship. The story unfolds as they each scheme, clash, and collaborate in pursuit of buried fortune, blending dark comedy, crime, and character-driven drama.

The Low Life live-action adaptation is available on Hulu. The live-action adaptation released on July 16, and is also available on Disney+ in some countries.
