Publisher AlphaPolis Acquires Anime Studio White Fox – News

Japanese publishing company AlphaPolis announced on Thursday that it will acquire the anime studio WHITE FOX, and will make WHITE FOX a wholly owned subsidiary. The acquisition date is set for September 30.

AlphaPolis stated in the announcement it is aiming to diversify its business into animation, merchandising, and game development, noting that expansion of its animation business is a mid-term strategic priority. The acquisition will allow AlphaPolis to create a video production system using WHITE FOX‘s production technology, in order to further accelerate animated works of high quality based on AlphaPolis‘ IP, to attract more fans inside and outside of Japan.

WHITE FOX was founded in April 2007, and has produced such anime as Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, Steins;Gate, Steins;Gate 0, Goblin Slayer, Arifureta – From Commonplace to World’s Strongest, Jormungand, Jormungand Perfect Order, Is the order a rabbit? both seasons, Girls’ Last Tour, Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious, and Akame ga KILL!, among others. The studio is animating the currently airing Uglymug, Epicfighter series.

AlphaPolis has published many light novel series that have also had anime adaptations, including: The Unaware Atelier Master, Tsuyokute New Saga, Re:Monster, Gate: Jiei-tai Ka no Chi ni te, Kaku Tatakaeri, A Gatherer’s Adventure in Isekai, Observation Records of My Fiancée, May I Ask for One Final Thing?, A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life, and Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy, among others.

AlphaPolis was founded in 2000, and the company launched the Alpha Manga service in 2021, which releases English versions of AlphaPolis‘ manga series.
