According to a press release by the Los Angeles Dodgers, the partnership will see “a stadium-wide giveaway of co-branded hats celebrating the highly popular Japanese anime film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle.” The event will “be supported by pregame and in-game promotions, an activation in the Centerfield Plaza, and a ceremonial first pitch.” A Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle drone show is also planned for the night.

Lon Rosen, Los Angeles Dodgers Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer, spoke about the partnership. “As one of the most popular titles in its genre of all time, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba enjoys a following with the same kind of passion that Dodger fans bring to the ballpark.” Rosen continued, “Without a doubt, there is an intersection between the two fan bases, and we look forward to celebrating that mutual fandom with what is sure to be an exciting night at Dodger Stadium.”

The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to play the Toronto Blue Jays on August 15. It is the first game of a three-game series. The Dodgers are currently first in the National League West standings with 61 wins and 45 losses. Among the National League, the Dodgers trail the leading Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago Cubs, and New York Mets.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle – Akaza Sairai, the first film in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle trilogy, opened on July 18 in Japan. The film earned 7,315,846,800 yen (about US$49.60 million) over Japan’s four-day holiday weekend. The film set a new record in Japan for the fastest film to earn 10 billion yen, beating the franchise‘s first film Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train (Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-Hen) in 2020, which is also currently the top-grossing film of all time in Japan. The film is set to open on September 12 in the United States and Canada.
